Huber, a UND alumna and the deputy adjutant general of the North Dakota National Guard, will discuss her career ‘From Cadet to General’

Who: Brig. Gen. Jackie Huber, Deputy Adjutant General of the North Dakota National Guard

What: Speaking event at which Brig. Gen. Huber will discuss her career “From Cadet to General.” A student ID is not required to attend the event.

When: Thursday, April 11, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Social Stairs in the UND Memorial Union. The event will also be livestreamed on UND’s website, here.

Background: This event is focused on highlighting the distinguished career of Brig. Gen. Jackie Huber, and how her time spent in the University of North Dakota Army Reserve Officer Training Corps program (ROTC) had an impact on her development as a leader. Professor of Military Science and Major Jared Budenski, as well as ROTC cadets Mitchell Morrison and Alex French, will also speak during this event about the ROTC program and provide insight on topics such as educational benefits and career opportunities.

Brig. Gen. Huber earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from UND and was commissioned as a Military Police Officer in August 1992. She also holds a master’s degree in human resource management from the University of Mary and a master’s degree in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College.

She has received several prestigious awards throughout her career, including the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal with four Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters. Brig. Gen. Huber has held many noteworthy positions in her career, with the most recent being Deputy Adjutant General for the North Dakota National Guard. She is the first female to hold this position in state office.
