What: Earth Day Fair: Green Eating for a Green Planet

When: Monday, April 22 on UND campus.

  • 1 to 3 p.m. in the Education Building lobby and GRO.UND Greenhouse (Education Room 22)
  • 3:30 to 6 p.m. at Archives Coffee House

Background: The Department of Nutrition & Dietetics and the College of Education & Human Development invite students, staff, faculty and members of the public to attend a celebration of sustainability and delicious, eco-friendly eating topics. The Earth Day Fair: Green Eating for a Green Planet event aims to inspire and educate attendees on the importance of food sustainability and fostering a healthier planet.

Featuring interactive learning sessions and hands-on activities, the Earth Day Fair will include educational presentations from UND faculty, natural dyes art projects, tours of the GRO.UND Smell and Touch Garden, Compost Bingo and more. A Blue Zones Smoothie Bike will be present at Archives Coffee House during the event.

Donations to UND’s Food for Thought Food Pantry will enter attendees into a drawing to win a UND Department of Nutrition & Dietetics blanket. There will also be a garden planter door prize.

The event is supported by Archives Coffee House, UND Wellness & Health Promotion, UND Landscaping, GF Little Learners, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Grand Forks County Soil Conservation District, the Blue Zones Project by ShareCare, the NDSU Extension in Grand Forks County and the Town Square Farmer’s Market.
