Where Pride Meets Possibility

UND Pride Center to Celebrate Fifth Annual Pride Week June 2-5, 2026

Pride Week

This Pride Month, we are not just celebrating who we are. We are investing in possibility. June was selected as Pride Month to commemorate the Stonewall Uprising on June 28, 1969, a pivotal moment in LGBTQ+ rights history. However, Pride is not only about looking back to acknowledge and learn from the past but to continue forward towards possibility. UND LGBTQ+ students in the late 60s were probably not thinking about the creation of the Pride Center on campus, but likely had an idea for the possibilities of an LGBTQ+ affirming campus.

Student organizing in the 1980s to form the first LGBTQ+ student organization in North Dakota and hosting large scale LGBTQ+ events on campus to advocating for the creation of the Pride Center and hosting the only state LGBTQ+ higher education conference paved a future of possibility for queer and trans students. This Pride Week is about celebrating these milestones and coming together as a community to make a difference on campus.

Join the Pride Center for a week of learning, community gathering, and celebration.

Fundraising Goal

Last June, we met our goal of $25,000 for the UND LGBTQ+ Endowment, but that is just the beginning. This year we are starting a Pride Week goal of raising $5,000 to kick-off Pride Month! Every day at the Pride Center is about making a difference in the lives of students. From helping students find community to exploring their leadership potential, our work creates possibility. And your support can help make it all happen!

$50 – Creates Connection: Supports the creation of a welcoming space from supplies for student drop-in activities and community-building within a semester.

$100 – Builds Belonging: Helps support student access to identify affirming resources and supplies.

$500 – Expands Access: Supports one event for community building or leadership development.

$1,000 – Creates Transformative Experiences: Supports campus-wide events and educational programs as well as support for students attending LGBTQ+ Leadership conferences.
