RESEARCH SECURITY TRAINING – REMINDER
For those researchers working under federal funding, please remember to complete your CITI Research Security Training. This is a new compliance requirement for institutions and researchers receiving federal funding. UND is utilizing the NSF SECURE Center developed, consolidated Research Security Training (RST) module, hosted by CITI: Research Security Training (Combined). Per NSF’s Important Notice No. 149, “NSF, NIH, DOE, and DOD all recognize completion of the condensed module as compliant with their respective RST requirements.”

OPEN ACCESS REQUIREMENTS – REMINDER
The new public access policies mandated by the Nelson Memo are informed by the broader community around open research and scholarship. Open research and scholarship encompass the rapid and widespread sharing of a range of scholarly activities and outputs, across disciplines. Open scholarship promotes inclusivity, transparent and trustworthy research, innovation, and collaboration. Included in the sphere of open research and scholarship are initiatives related to open data, open access, and open educational resources.
UND has a website with additional information and resources to support faculty in ensuring compliance with these requirements, including information on a number of publishing agreements, and Scholarly Commons, which can be useful in making our research open access. Faculty are encouraged to make sure for all federal grant proposals to include funding for open-access publication fees.
