Culinary Corner classes listed

Cheap, Fast and Healthy – 5:30 to 6 p.m., Monday, April 26

Are you on a hectic schedule and tight budget? Are you sick of going through the drive-thru and ordering unhealthy food just because it’s convenient? Come join us for Cheap, Fast and Healthy. Each 30-minute session will feature tips on shopping for fresh and healthy ingredients, easy to prepare recipes and food cost comparisons. Class participants will see the recipe being prepared, enjoy a sample, and leave with the recipe card and nutrition information to make the meal themselves. The class is free, and pre-registration is not required.

Start Right Breakfast, 7:15 to 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 27

Who said Wheaties is the only breakfast of champions? Come join us bright and early in the Culinary Corner and start your day off right. Learn healthy breakfast options that are easy, delicious and made for champions. Breakfast is served in the Culinary Corner every Tuesday morning at 7:15 a.m. It is free, and there is no need to pre-register.

Brain Food – 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 27

Its that time of the semester again and finals week is right around the corner. Need a little help powering through studying? Join us at the Culinary Corner where we are going to whip up some food to help stimulate the brain, aid you in studying and calm those nerves for finals. The cost is $7 per person

Marathon Meal Planning – 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 28

Are you training for that 5K or half-marathon? Do you just run for fun? If so, join us to learn and help prepare meals fit for any runner’s appetite. In one night you will learn new recipes tailored to race day, the day before a race, speed workouts and normal runs. Learn when you should eat to get the most out of your fuel on your run and what quick snacks will help with that extra mile. Tonight’s Recipe: Asparagus and Mushroom Rigatoni. The cost is $7.

Biscuits and Gravy – 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 29

Family Night – 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 5

Join us in the Culinary Corner during Family Night, the first Wednesday of each month. From 5 to 6:30 p.m., we will be serving “kid approved” snacks. The Rock Wall will be open for open climbing and activities in the classrooms. The cost is $5 per family.
