Two VP Health Affairs candidates will interview on campus

Two candidates for the position of Vice President for Health Affairs will interview on campus.

Dr. Ellen M. Cosgrove, Senior Associate Dean for Education and Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, will visit campus April 11 – 13. Dr. Joshua Wynne, Interim Vice President for Health Affairs and Interim Dean of the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences, will interview April 25 – 27.

The afternoon of Monday, April 12, for Dr. Cosgrove, and the afternoon of Monday, April 26, for Dr. Wynne, will be devoted to staff, faculty, and students. Each group will have approximately one hour to visit with the candidate and ask questions. The meetings will be held at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Each candidate will also have the opportunity to make a presentation to the statewide campuses and communities. Dr. Cosgrove’s presentation will be Tuesday, April 13, at 11 a.m., and Dr. Wynne’s presentation will be Tuesday, April 27, at 11 a.m. Both events will be held in the Reed Keller Auditorium and are scheduled for approximately 90 minutes; they will include questions and answers and will be Webcast.

It was previously announced that the search committee had identified three candidates for campus visits. The third candidate, Dr. Arthur J. Ross, currently Vice President for Medical Affairs, Dean of the Medical School, and Professor of Surgery & Pediatrics at the Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago, withdrew his candidacy earlier this week. — Phyllis Johnson, Vice President for Research and Economic Development and Paul LeBel, Interim Provost, Search Committee Co-Chairs.
