U Community invited to forum on UND’s future

UND’s Future:An Invitation to Engage in the Conversation is the focus of an open forum Wednesday, April 7.

The President’s initiative to conduct a campus-wide conversation to identify some “big ideas” for the future of UND will continue next week with the second of two open forums Wednesday, April 7, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Memorial Union Lecture Bowl.

The first round of conversations began to explore the President’s themes of “Strengthening Connections” and “Enhancing Community.” A set of questions developed around those themes might be a useful background to your participation in one of the open forum sessions. The questions are:

Strengthening Connections –
• What significant connections exist across academic disciplines?
• What meaningful connections exist between UND and others?
• Which of those connections should be strengthened?
• Where are there opportunities to develop new connections?

Enhancing Community –
• How can the quality of our student experience be improved?
• How can the careers of our faculty be more fulfilling?
• How can the contributions of our staff be more satisfying?

If you were unable to attend the Town Hall Meeting at the beginning of these conversations, you can view it online at http://www.future.und.edu . — Paul LeBel, Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
