Introduction to Ergonomics Online
Open enrollment-March 1 through June 30 (0056)
Blackboard session: Attendees will be provided login information upon enrollment.
Ergonomics is introduced to participants of this new on-line training! Ergonomics will be defined along with identifying goals associated with the UND Ergonomic Program as seen at www.und.edu/dept/policyoffice/Policies/safety/safety/PDF/ergonomics.pdf. Risk factors to avoid in order to prevent cumulative trauma disorders (CTD’s) will be highlighted. Symptoms of CTD’s will be outlined, along with preventative strategies. Presenter: Claire Moen

Emergency Preparedness
May 5, 1 to 3 p.m., Swanson Hall, Room 10-12
This session will describe UND’s procedures for dealing with all types of emergencies, including but not limited to: severe weather, terrorism, natural disaster, and pandemic influenza. Guidance will be given regarding the proper action to take before, during, and after an emergency. Presenter: Jason Uhlir.

Visa Issues and the Hiring of International Faculty and Staff
May 5, 2 to 4 p.m., Skalicky Tech Incubator, Room 211
If you are hiring international faculty/staff or sponsoring visiting scholars, this session will provide guidance concerning the acquisition of the correct visa for international faculty, visiting scholars, medical residents, and professional staff. The difference between J-1, H-1B, and TN visas will be discussed along with application procedures through the Office of International Programs, U.S. Immigration and Citizenship Service, and U.S. Department of State. Defensive Driving
May 5, 6 to 10 p.m., Skalicky Tech Incubator, Room 211
This session is required by State Fleet for all UND employees who drive State Fleet vehicles on a regular (monthly) basis, received a traffic violation, or had an accident while operating a State Fleet vehicle. Employees are encouraged to bring a family member (spouse or dependents). This session may also reduce your North Dakota insurance premiums and could possibly remove points from your driving record. Presenter: Dan Lund.

Running, Reading and Reconciling Key Finance Reports in PeopleSoft
May 6, 9 to 10:30 a.m., Gamble, Lanterman Center, Room 9
Prerequisite: Must have previously attended either a “Budgets Overview Inquiry” or “Budget vs. Cash Inquiry” U2 session and must have a PeopleSoft user ID and password for Finance Module.
This training provides the tools necessary to navigate through PeopleSoft in order to run, read and understand PeopleSoft financial reports. Important tips will be provided to help you recognize why, when and how to reconcile revenue and expense transactions posted to your funds. Troubleshooting tips and tools to help you resolve budgeting errors will also be provided. This session includes hands-on practice activities. Presenter: Tom Swangler.

Introduction to Web Page Design with Dreamweaver CS3
May 6, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., 235 Starcher Hall, Mac Lab
Prerequisite: Experience using Dreamweaver software.
This workshop will focus on the basics of web page design including: planning your site, designing and creating pages, and publishing your site. Since the focus on this workshop is on web page design it is necessary for participants to have some experience using Dreamweaver software.

Copyright Basics
May 11, 9 to 10 a.m., Swanson hall, Room 16-18
Copyright is an area of law that is often misunderstood but its importance cannot be overstated, especially on campus. This Workshop will introduce you to basic copyright concepts, including what is covered by copyright, how works are protected and who owns what. Also, participants will have a better understanding of how the University can help them secure and protect their original works. Presenters: Jason Jenkins and Tara Kopplin.

Supervisors will receive guidelines for using a progressive discipline system. Presenters: Joy Johnson.

GroupWise 8.0: Intermediate
May 12, 9 a.m. to noon, Carnegie Hall, Telecom Training Lab, Room 7
Prerequisite: GroupWise 8.0 Beginning
You will work with advanced message options; set mail properties; customize message headers; use Web Access interface; create and use rules to automate e-mail responses; set access rights; and work in depth with the Junk Mail folder and archive feature. Presenter: Heidi Strande.
