ND EPSCoR state conference set for Sept. 29

The North Dakota Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) is holding its 2010 state conference at the Alerus Center Wednesday, Sept. 29. The EPSCoR meeting this year is unprecedented in that it is co-located with the R&D Showcase. Consequently, we anticipate unique opportunities for interactions between university faculty, students, and business and governmental leaders.

Particular attention will be focused on research accomplishments, with an expansive poster session that takes full advantage of the space provided by the Alerus Center, and small group discussions that seek to identify emergent research opportunities, and, in particular, those that involve collaborations. In addition, we are fortunate to have Robert Twilley, associate vice chancellor of Research and Economic Development at Louisiana State University and director of the Coastal Systems and Society Initiative, as our Keynote Speaker. Twilley’s June 10 address to the National Press Club on the Gulf oil spill is highlighted by the National Science Foundation (NSF) as a press release for the Media.

Conference registration, poster guidelines, and a tentative agenda for the conference may be viewed on the ND EPSCoR web page at www.ndepscor.nodak.edu
