Alumni announces homecoming events

The UND Alumni Association announces a full slate of activities for Homecoming 2010, Oct. 4-10. A schedule of all campus events during the week is available at www.undalumni.org or by calling 777-2611.

Highlights of the week are:

  • Yell Like Hell: College students can show their school spirit in the Wilkerson Quad on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
  • Student Flag Football: Student groups on campus compete against each other in flag football on Wednesday from 3-6 p.m. at Memorial Stadium practice field.
  • The Sioux Award Banquet: Howard Dahl, ’71, HON ’10; Henry C. “Bud” Wessman, ’89; Mary Wakefield, ..’83; and Greg Page, ’73, will be honored with The Sioux Award. Ryan Kopseng, ’99 will receive the Young Alumni Achievement Award. The banquet is at Alerus Center on Thursday, Oct. 7 with a social at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $50/person and can be purchased online at www.undalumni.org or by call the UND Alumni Association at 777-2611.
  • Ignite the Spirit: Be part of what everyone will be talking about the next day. Join the university community at the Chester Fritz Auditorium on Friday at 3p.m.
  • Class of 1960 Reunion: On Friday, mingle with classmates at the Golden Grad Cocktail Social at L’Bistro Restaurant/Canad Inns from 11-1 p.m. On Saturday, the class of 1960 will reconvene for breakfast on the front porch of the J. Lloyd Stone House at 10 a.m.
  • Homecoming Parade: The annual Homecoming parade begins on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., on University Avenue. To enter a float in the parade visit www.undalumni.org or contact Meredith at 777.2611.
  • Homecoming Tailgating Party: Get ready to cheer on your Fighting Sioux beginning at 2 p.m. in the Alerus Center parking lot.
  • Homecoming Football Game: UND takes on Southern Utah. Visit www.ticketmaster.com for tickets. At half-time the Coronation ceremony and announcement of the 2010 Homecoming King and Queen will occur, as well as introduction of the Sioux Award recipients.
