Québec government official will visit campus through March 9

Marc Boucher, head of the Québec government office in Chicago, will visit UND March 7-9.

Boucher is a professor of history, a foreign relations officer, and a cultural and economic advisor for the province of Québec. He has wide-ranging experience in international relations as the former head of Québec’s government offices in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Louisiana.

The Québec Delegation in Chicago opened in 1969. It covers the 12 states in the Midwest region of the United States, and promotes and defends Québec’s interests throughout that area. It also contributes to the activities of regional organizations such as the Council of Great Lakes Governors and the Great Lakes Commission, of which Québec is an associate member.

Boucher has also served as an advisor in New York and London and has managed positions at the Ministère des Relations internationales, where he served as director general of public affairs and director general of policy and planning. From 2005-2007, he was a professor at the École nationale d’administration publique.
