UND mobile application now available

As part of the UND Core-Technology initiative, we are pleased to announce the first release of the official UND Mobile Application available to download from the Apple App Store. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/und/id437918531?mt=8#. You may also find the UND mobile app by searching for “UND” in the Apple App Store.

As the official UND mobile app, all applications developed by UND will be hosted within the UND mobile app wrapper. The University will establish standards and procedures to expand the application set provided to the community.

The UND mobile app gives you access to the latest information about the university. You will be able to access:

  • News – See UND’s top news feed from across campus
  • Directory – Look up UND faculty, staff and students, store contacts with a few taps, and use the e-mail or phone capabilities of your device to connect
  • Maps – Search for UND buildings by name, pinpoint them on the map and see your relative location, and zoom or pan across the map using the multi-touch interface
  • Athletics – Pick up UND sports news, schedules and up-to-the-minute scores
  • Courses – Access the current term course schedule — including times and locations — and tap to map the location or contact the professor
  • UND Video – Get the latest UND YouTube videos directly on your phone
  • and more…

Currently, the UND mobile app is available only for iPhone users. However, we plan to deploy the app to Android and Blackberry users in the very near future.

We will be continually updating the UND mobile app with new applications in the next several weeks. Some exciting applications that we plan to deploy in the upcoming months include:

  • Transit – you can check the bus routes, schedule and current location of the buses
  • Events – UND and Grand Forks community events calendar
  • Cab Crawler – call a cab when you need one

Please join us in celebrating by downloading the UND mobile app onto your iPhone.
