Division of Research offers a grant writing workshop Sept. 24

Learn the basics of grant proposal writing for public and private agencies and foundations during a special session from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, in the Memorial Union River Valley Room. Topics to be covered in a general session include the elements of a successful proposal, how to develop a budget, the handling of compliance and intellectual property issues, and how to get a proposal through Research Development and Compliance (RD&C). Following the general session, there will be breakout sessions to include:

  • Developing a Budget
  • Top 10 Things for Successful Grant Writing
  • Writing an Effective Outreach Section
  • Writing a Proposal for Impact and Significance
  • Avoiding the Fatal Flaws
