Staff Senate announces November U-Shine recipient

Staff Senate is proud to announce the November U Shine Award recipient is Sharley Kurtz from Nursing. Sharley was nominated by Elizabeth Becker and was presented with a check for $50 and a certificate by Staff Senate President Kristi Swartz.

This award is presented monthly to a UND staff member who went out of his or her way to make UND a better place.

Here is an excerpt of what Elizabeth had to say about Sharley: As she was walking through the parking lot behind the College of Nursing, Sharley Kurtz saw a faculty member in need of assistance.  She aided him by carrying  his laptop bag and helped him get to his office. Once there she told him she was on her way to a meeting at Archives and (knowing that he frequently went to Archives in the mornings) offered to pick him up something.

All UND staff members are eligible to receive this award. Nominations can be submitted through the Staff Senate Website, http://www.und.edu/org/undss/ or forms are available at UND Facilities, Dining Services and the Memorial Union Post Office.
Nominations must be received by the 15th monthly.
