Denim Day is Wednesday, Aug. 3

Denim Day is Wednesday, Aug. 3.

Pay $1 to your Denim Day site coordinator (or to Cheri Williams, Office of the President at Stop 8193 if your building does not have a site coordinator) and enjoy going casual for local non-profit organizations. If your office allows you to wear denim all the time, consider still giving $1 on Denim Days. Donations go to very good causes.  Checks, if any, must be made out to “Denim Day.”

All proceeds collected during 2016 regular Denim Days will go to the following: (1) Altru Caring for Kids program; (2) Circle of Friends Humane Society; (3) Community Violence Intervention Center – Light of Hope program; (4) Grand Forks Senior Center – Meals on Wheels program; (5) Home Delivered Meals; (6) Lutheran Social Services – Healthy Families program; (7) Mountainbrooke Recovery Center – Live Life Well recovery training program; (8) Red River Valley Habitat for Humanity; (9) Safe Kids Grand Forks; (10) St. Joseph’s Social Care and Thrift Store – Food Pantry; (11) Third Street Clinic; (12) Wings of Hope Bereavement Services.

Organization Spotlight: Third Street Clinic provides low-cost medical, dental, vision and pharmacy services to improve the health and well-being of underserved residents. Vision services help clients get the corrective lenses they need to see, read, drive, and live a full life.

UND Staff Senate, in conjunction with UND Work Well, encourages you to wear tennis shoes on Denim Day and to take a walk on your breaks for YOUR health and wellness while your donation provides health and wellness to members of our community.
