Aug. 23 video message from President Armacost

UND’s new student leaders join President Armacost for his first bi-weekly message of the semester.

Faith Wahl and Morgan Mastrud, Student Body president and vice president, spend time with Armacost to talk about Student Government activities and answer some questions from the president.

Wahl, a senior originally from Bismarck, hopes new and returning students stop by the Student Government office to chat and get involved. The president and vice president’s office hours are every Monday from 9 – 11 a.m., and Wednesdays, from 1 – 3 p.m.

The two also promote the Green Bandana Project, which is launching with the start of the academic year. The project helps students learn about mental health issues and how to be a resource for one another, Wahl said. Training sessions for this peer support program are open to students on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday of this week.

Mastrud, a senior and Fargo native, is excited to keep connecting with student organizations, making student government more accessible and working with student senators in strengthening the campus community.

Then, ending with a question flipped back to Armacost, UND’s president says he’s looking forward to being back together on campus, restoring past traditions and strengthening the University’s future via a new strategic plan.
