Nov. 1 video message from President Armacost

This week, President Armacost’s video address comes from the TRIO Programs offices on campus.

He’s joined by Kaleigh DeGeldere, a senior political science major, to talk about UND’s TRIO Programs and the upcoming First-Gen Day Celebration on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

First-Gen Day Celebration is meant to recognize students who are the first in their families to complete a four-year college education. UND operates five distinct TRIO Programs, which are federally funded and support both income-eligible and first-generation students.

The event is open to everyone on campus, including the public, and will be held in the Small Ballroom of the Memorial Union from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Armacost asks DeGeldere about what’s to be expected at this first-time event for the University, as well as what her own journey has been like as a first-generation student. DeGeldere also will be part of a student panel starting at noon during the First-Gen Day Celebration.
