March 19 video message from President Armacost

President Armacost is joined by Drs. Beth Valentine and Yvette Koepke, two members of the University Council for Women+ (UCW+) in this week’s video address.

The campus community is invited to the Women’s History Month Breakfast, hosted by UCW+, starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 22, in the Henry Family Ballroom, 220, at UND’s Memorial Union.

Those interested can register to attend in-person or online but are also welcome to drop by the morning of the event.

Breakfast will start at 9 a.m., and a faculty panel will start at 9:30. Four panelists will be talking about their research and how it impacts women:

  • Nikki Berg Burin, associate professor of History & American Indian Studies
  • Wendelin Hume, associate professor of Criminal Justice Studies
  • Krista Lynn Minnotte, professor and department chair of Sociology
  • Rachel Navarro, teaching director and professor of Counseling Psychology

Armacost joins Yvette Koepke, associate professor of English and associate dean for academic success in the College of Arts & Sciences, and Beth Valentine, equity compliance and education manager for UND’s Equal Opportunity & Title IX Office, to talk about the organization and what people can expect at Friday’s event.

Koepke and Valentine serve UCW+ as faculty co-chair and recorder, respectively.

A revival of the former Presidential Advisory Council for Women, UCW+ welcomes all UND employees to work to promote equity across campus. Meetings are hosted monthly to share experiences and concerns; network; engage with issues; pursue professional development; and have fun.

Those interested in more information can find UCW+ on UND’s website.
