Surojit Gupta named Fellow of American Society for Metals International
Surojit Gupta, a professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of North Dakota, has been elected a Fellow of the American Society for Metals International for his contributions in the field of materials science and engineering.
Gupta, also an award-winning Fellow in the American Ceramic Society, was selected “for sustained contributions, leadership and mentoring in the area of advanced ceramics, composites and multi-functional materials and the development of green and sustainable manufacturing technologies,” according to ASM.
In October, Gupta is invited to accept his ASM Fellow Award at the International Materials, Applications & Technologies conference in Detroit.
At UND, Gupta is an active researcher in sustainable materials, high temperature ceramics and alloys, nanotechnology, and additive and green manufacturing. He teaches fundamental and applied courses related to materials science and engineering and has received multiple distinctions from the University for his teaching and research.
