UND Second Annual AI and Human Innovation Showcase is March 20

The University of North Dakota’s AI and Human Innovation Initiative is excited to announce its second annual AI and Human Innovation Showcase, taking place on Friday, March 20, 2026.
This free, day-long event invites faculty, staff, students and community members to explore how artificial intelligence can be used as a partner in human thought and endeavors across classroom activities, research, creative pursuits and community projects.
The showcase will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, poster sessions and lightning round presentations that highlight innovative projects from across disciplines.
The event celebrates interdisciplinary work that connects AI with the arts, humanities, research and human experience.

- 9:30 a.m. – Keynote by Justin Montigne, assistant professor of Music
- 10:30 a.m. – Panel Discussion
- 11:30 a.m. – Lunch
- 1 p.m. – Poster Session
- 2 p.m. – Keynote by Shawn Riley of Bisblox
- 2:30 p.m. – Lightning Round Presentations
- 3:15 p.m. – Closing reception with hors d’oeuvres and discussion
About the AI and Human Innovation Initiative
UND’s AI and Human Innovation Initiative brings an arts and humanities perspective to inquiry regarding AI’s potential promise and peril, and its broader implications for society and culture.
To nurture ethical and equitable AI use and development, the initiative advocates challenging and exploring AI’s application through insights grounded in the arts and humanities.
The initiative explores interdisciplinary AI application, creative pursuit, critical inquiry, and pedagogy, recognizing that AI impacts all human endeavors and that humanistic perspectives must inform the advance of this technology.
