Luncheon recognizes graduate students’ digital accessibility work
This past week, UND’s Office of Civil Rights & Title IX hosted a luncheon to celebrate the efforts of 12 graduate students who worked during the summer term on digital accessibility for courses.
The Office helped fund 10 students from the College of Arts & Sciences and two from the College of Education & Human Development to work on captioning videos and making documents accessible for UND courses.
Their efforts over the past weeks supported ongoing faculty efforts to meet enhanced standards for digital accessibility — a key initiative over the past year ahead of incoming changes to Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Gathered for pizza, the students were asked an icebreaker: “What has been your favorite season in North Dakota?”
Perhaps surprisingly, the vast majority answered with winter.
