Nominations sought for Chester Fritz Distinguished Professorships
Nominations for Chester Fritz Distinguished Professors are now open.
The Chester Fritz Distinguished Professorships were established through an endowment gift from the late UND benefactor Chester Fritz (1892 – 1983). Revenue from the endowment provides cash stipends to one or more full-time UND faculty members who thereafter may use the title “Chester Fritz Distinguished Professor.”
CFDP nomination packets are due to the dean’s office by Nov. 1 and to Faculty Affairs by Nov. 15. New Chester Fritz Distinguished Professors will be announced at the UND Founders Day banquet on Feb.18, 2027.
Nominations may be submitted by current Chester Fritz Distinguished Professors, full professors or department chairs and must be supported by the dean.
Please note that there have been updates to the “Criteria for Selection” and “Nomination Process,” including a new limit of six letters of support. Please visit the Chester Fritz Distinguished Professors webpage for complete nomination requirements and application information.
