UND Theatre is excited to open the 2026-27 season with “The Addams Family” on a new stage at Starcher Hall.

“The Addams Family” is a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, featuring an original story and a dilemma that is every father’s nightmare.

Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family — a man her parents have never met.

And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before: keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia.

Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

For the first time since 1962, UND Theatre has a new performance space. The new Starcher Stage, located in Starcher Hall, will be unveiled on opening night of “The Addams Family” on Thursday, Oct. 8.

An opening night ribbon cutting will start at 6:45 with celebrations before the show and food and drinks at intermission. Join the Department of Theatre Arts as it opens the state’s premiere black box theater and embarks on a new era of UND Theatre.

UND students, faculty and staff are looking forward to seeing everyone at the new Starcher Stage!
