Scholarly Forum showcases student research
The Graduate School will host the 10th annual Scholarly Forum at the Memorial Union, March 8-9.
The Scholarly Forum is the only campus-wide event showcasing the cutting edge research and creative scholarship of the university’s graduate community. This year’s event will be the largest yet, with 92 oral presentations and panels, and 95 research posters and art exhibits.
A highlight of the Scholarly Forum is the Dean’s Lecture Series which this year features the research of Jianglong Zhang, Atmospheric Sciences. Zhang will discuss “Aerosol, Clouds and Climate” at noon, Wednesday, March 9, in the Memorial Union Lecture Bowl.
The Ballroom is once again set to be the busiest room of the two-day event, hosting the art exhibits and research posters from all corners of campus. The poster session is scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, where presenters will gather to discuss their research.
“The Scholarly Forum is a valuable opportunity to discover the depth and breadth of research and scholarship conducted throughout our graduate community”, said Dean Joseph Benoit. “The magnitude and caliber of new knowledge generated by UND scholars is the highlight of the Forum.”
