36th Annual Gardening Saturday is April 1, registration deadline March 16

The NDSU Grand Forks County Extension is hosting Gardening Saturday: Gardening Spree 2023 at the Alerus Center on Saturday, April 1, from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Pre-registration is required, and online registration closes 8 a.m. on Thursday, March 16.

The 36th Annual Gardening Saturday will feature Lisa Nunamaker, an award-winning designer, artist and educator. She is the creator of the Paper Garden Workshop, a place to learn garden design and landscape graphics.

Nunamaker uses her illustration skills to teach these topics both on her website, Paper Garden Workshop and in Iowa State University’s Department of Horticulture. She holds degrees in landscape architecture, is registered in the state of Iowa and serves on the Association of Professional Landscape Designers National Board of Directors.

More knowledgeable presenters will be at the event, alongside Nunamaker, for the event’s breakout sessions. Dozens of sessions are available throughout the day. Nunamaker’s keynote presentation at 9 a.m. is titled, “How to Create an Out-of-the-Ordinary Theme Garden.”
