March 27 event will celebrate Women’s History Month

In honor of Women’s History Month, Cynthia Prescott, professor of history at UND, will be presenting her book, “Pioneer Mother Monuments: Constructing Cultural Memory,” on Monday, March 27, in the Memorial Union Small Ballroom from 4 to 5 p.m.

All UND employees are welcome to attend, and refreshments will be provided.

For more than a century, American communities erected monuments to western pioneers. In her book, Prescott examines the long and complex history of remembering, forgetting and rediscovering pioneer monuments. Read more about Prescott’s work at pioneermonuments.net.
