UND Print Club, Public Arts Commission present ‘Flowers Through the Eyes of Warhol’

UND student group’s new exhibition at Alerus Center features opening reception Sept. 7

The public is invited to the opening reception of “Flowers Through the Eyes of Warhol” at the Alerus Center, Door No. 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7.

Organized by the UND Print Club and curated by Vickie Arndt, curator for the Public Arts Commission in Grand Forks, this exhibition celebrates the talent of Art Department students who have formed an enthusiastic printmaking community. Students from the Print Club have taken up the challenge of reinterpreting Andy Warhol’s “Flowers” series, resulting in an impressive body of work.

“As an observer, it’s evident that the existence of the Print Club has the potential to foster a vibrant and supportive creative environment at the University of North Dakota and in Grand Forks,” Arndt said. “It is not only a place for students and local artists to develop their artistic skills but also a hub for finding inspiration and establishing meaningful connections within the artistic community.

“The potential for growth and impact is truly exciting, and we hope the club thrives and continues to inspire and nurture the passion for printmaking among its members.”

The public is invited to the opening reception of “Flowers Through the Eyes of Warhol” at the Alerus Center, Door No. 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7. The exhibition will run until December, and the public also is invited to view and enjoy the artwork created by these talented students.
