Welcome Weekend slideshow: Meet the Class of 2029
UND’s incoming freshmen were treated to full weekend of activities, get-togethers in advance of fall semester

The Class of 2029 is pushing UND to all-time enrollment records, and this past weekend marked the students’ first days on campus.
Welcome Weekend 2025, Aug. 23-25, featured a packed schedule for the University’s new arrivals, in addition to the typical hustle and bustle of moving into residence halls.
Saturday night featured a “takeover” of the Chester Fritz Performing Arts Center with games, music and prizes. Sunday opened to brunch at Wilkerson and an open house at the Wellness Center. By early evening, it was time for the iconic class photo — this time taken on the Quad, near the Chester Fritz Library.
Then, it was over to the Memorial Union for even more festivities well into the night.
Kicking off what President Andy Armacost has called the “year of community” at UND, students throughout the weekend had the chance to get to know each other, the campus and the Greater Grand Forks community.
And much of it was captured by UND’s staff photographers, whose exceptional work in slideshow form is available for viewing via Exposure. Here’s to the Class of 2029!
