VIDEO: Introducing ‘Faculty Success’ at UND
President Armacost hosts Assistant Professor Ashley Fansher, Vice Provost Randi Tanglen to introduce new web tool
President Andrew Armacost this week hosts the “Randi and Andy and Ashley Show” for his latest video message to campus, once again hosting a conversation with Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs Randi Tanglen and introducing Assistant Professor Ashley Fansher.
Fansher joins the conversation as one of Faculty Affairs’ faculty fellows, in addition to her role in the Department of Criminal Justice.
Tanglen and Fansher share news that starting in 2026, all faculty will start using a tool called “Faculty Success” to report their contributions in teaching, research, creative activities and service.
This web tool, powered by the academic software company Watermark and facilitated by UND’s Office of University Analytics & Planning, is intended to eventually unify all faculty processes.
This year, it’s expanding to all Colleges following its prior use by the College of Arts & Sciences and the Nistler College of Business & Public Administration.
“The benefit for faculty is that bringing these processes to Faculty Success will allow us to streamline and modernize these processes into one tool, one login and no more clunky PDFs,” Tanglen says.
Further, the tool will allow UND to better tell its story of accomplishments and collective impact both locally and globally, Tanglen adds.
She says the Page 2 contracts process will be conducted through Faculty Success starting this spring, and the annual evaluation process will be added starting in fall 2026.
Fansher says that collaboration with University Analytics & Planning, as well as focus groups, have helped to pilot and refine the various processes that Faculty Success aims to centralize. This spring, several training opportunities will be available to faculty making the transition.
Tanglen shares that UND CONNECT will soon once again award grants to faculty researchers, and another deadline for new projects will be announced for spring. She also hints at events to come early next year for faculty peer-led writing groups, Teacher Appreciation Week and the Creative Scholarship Ceremony.
