UND GradTalk Podcast: Talking turkey with Cailey Isaacson

By tracking more than 200 wild turkeys across North Dakota, Isaacson and her colleagues hope to learn a lot more about these amazing birds

Editor’s note: In the third episode of the UND GradTalk podcast, Cailey Isaacson, a current PhD student and graduate research assistant from the UND Department of Biology, talks with GradTalk Podcast Hose Lincoln Retzlaff and shares insights about her work.

In this episode, Isaacson discusses her experiences working in collaboration with the North Dakota Game and Fish Department to track and monitor the behavioral and movement patterns of wild turkeys in North Dakota. Her research provides better insights for wildlife management and contributes to maintaining the sustainability of bird populations in the area.

The podcast is above. It also has been posted at UND’s YouTube page, which is where all of the GradTalk podcasts that follow will be posted, too.

This article from the November 2023 edition of North Dakota Outdoors, the official publication of the North Dakota Game and Fish Department, has a lot more information about the department and Isaacson’s work.

Closed captioning is available with the podcast. Enjoy!
