Danielle Jones, communications manager for the North Dakota Small Business Development Centers and the Center for Business Engagement & Development at UND, has been named the ND SBDC’s 2026 State Star.

The annual America’s SBDC State Star award recognizes individuals for outstanding performance, contributions to their statewide networks and dedication to helping small businesses succeed. Jones was honored alongside recipients from across the country during America’s SBDC annual training event in Atlanta in late September.

“We are proud to recognize Danielle Jones as North Dakota’s 2026 State Star,” said Tiffany Ford, ND SBDC state director. “Danielle brings thoughtfulness and purpose to how we communicate with small business owners, partners, and our statewide team. Her work helps business owners better understand and connect with the resources available to them. She also helps strengthen awareness of the ND SBDC’s role and impact across the state.”

Based at the ND SBDC Lead Center in Grand Forks, Jones coordinates communications and outreach across the statewide network. She also supports center directors and advisors through client intake, data management, reporting and process improvements that help staff devote more time to serving small businesses.

Jones plays a key role in strengthening collaboration between the lead center and service centers throughout North Dakota. Colleagues recognize her responsiveness, willingness to share knowledge and ability to help others navigate program requirements and find practical solutions.

Before assuming her current position, Jones served as client relations specialist for the Center for Business Engagement & Development, supporting client intake and communications across its programs. She also holds the Certified Professional Business Advisor credential.

The ND SBDC is a statewide outreach program of UND’s Center for Business Engagement & Development within the Nistler College of Business & Public Administration. Its network provides confidential, no-cost advising and training to help small businesses overcome challenges, grow and navigate financial and regulatory requirements.
