VIDEO: Share your UND LEADS work with new dashboard

New platform available to campus community documents and visualizes University’s strategic plan in action

President Andrew Armacost, in his latest video, says a new tool introduced this fall makes it easier than ever to show the UND LEADS Strategic Plan in action.

The UND LEADS Insights Dashboard is open to students, staff and faculty for submitting LEADS-related activities and viewing others’ work and ideas under the plan’s five core values.

Ryan Zerr, professor and chair of Mathematics, who serves as Associate Vice President for Strategy & Implementation, joins Armacost in this week’s video to talk about the dashboard’s development.

To evaluate the impact of LEADS on campus, the most straightforward approach was to create an inventory for the community’s work that visualizes connections to the strategic plan, Zerr says.

Zerr and the Implementation Team wanted to make it easy for people to submit their activities to the dashboard; it shouldn’t take more than five minutes to submit something and indicate the progress of that activity, whether it’s a fresh idea or a recently completed project.

One of the standout features, Zerr says, is the ability to invite others to submit their work — a way for colleagues to acknowledge each other’s work and encourage sharing LEADS progress more broadly.

Armacost asks how people can learn more and engage with this new tool, and Zerr points to the Strategic Plan website, which includes direct links to the dashboard.

Zerr and Armacost also offer thanks to Shane Johnson, systems administrator, and the UIT team for making the dashboard possible.
