Successful Habit Resources
- Step up and onto the machine, begin by pressing the start button and then adjust the speed as you go
- Locate the brake button and ensure shoes are tied before you begin!
Getting the most out of your stair stepper workout
|
- Use handrails sparingly
- Utilize handrails when you need to balance
- There's nothing wrong with using your handlebars if you need help maintaining stability
- Step with your whole foot
- Avoid stepping with your toes only
- Let the step fully extend beneath you (without bottoming out) before you switch feet
- Practice good posture
- Square your hips
- Face the front of the macine
- Engage your core (keep it tight)
- Avoid bending at the waist
- Slow, steady, and intentional wins the race
- The stairs are a marathon, not a sprint!
