Positive Affirmation Activities
- Pick a list of affirmations
- Write your own affirmations
- This involves more than just picking from a list
- Think deeply about your desires, emotions, gratefulness and more
- Practice daily affirmations
- Create a list of 5-10 affirmations to repeat each day
- Repeating these can be effective in the morning or just before bedtime to calm your mind
- Complete the sentence
- "I am ..." is one of the most popular "fill in the blanks" exercises
- You can also try:
- "Today I will..."
- "Tomorrow I will..."
- Mindfulness breathing with affirmations
- Say your affitmations aloud and breathe deeply
- Imagine that you are breathing in positivity associated with the affirmation
- You can focus on mental blocks while exhaling
- Use sticky notes
- Helpful for focus and reminders throughout the day
- Write your affirmations for the day on a few sticky notes, place them in spots that will catch your eye
- Journal affirmations
- Write down your affirmations into a journal or even in your phone notes
- Look back at the journal at a later date when you are feeling low. This can act as an instant pick-me-up
