Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter receives highest honors

beta-gamma-sigma-instoryThe UND Beta Gamma Sigma Alpha Chapter, the honor society for Business majors, has qualified for “highest honors” for the 2015-2016 academic year.

This recognition is based on the Chapter Year in Review Survey and data gathered from the Chapter Management System. According to the organization, this status indicates that academic excellence is valued and faculty officers of the chapter work diligently to enhance Beta Gamma’s signature.

In addition to this honorary status, the chapter has been awarded a leadership scholarship, which allows a single student registration for the 2016 Global Leadership Summit.

The organization’s Advisor, Donna Altepeter, says this is not the first time the UND Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter has earned this status; however, she is still very proud of what the honor society has accomplished. “We’ve always qualified for it since I’ve been an advisor,” says Altepeter, “but we are very happy to have qualified for it again this year. It has become more difficult to qualify for the highest honor the last several years with additional requirements for student officers and members to participate in several volunteer events during the year. The BGS honor society hopes to promote leadership skills among its members, and to motivate the BGS members to become actively involved in the University and community.”
