Sept. 25: An Italian Symphony

The Greater Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra will open the 2016-17 concert season with an “Italian Symphony” on Sunday Sept. 25, at 2:30 p.m. in the Empire Arts Center.  Experience the music, food and art of Italy!

Musical selections include the famous William Tell Overtures by Gioachino Rossini; Felix Mendelssohn’s Italian Symphony, and “La Campanella” (The Little Bell) by Niccolo Paganini – featuring guest violinist Carmelo de los Santos.

You will feel like you were transported to Italy when you hear the sounds and see the beautiful Italian artwork provided by The UND Art Department. Following the concert, patrons are invited to Giuseppe’s Italian Restaurant directly across the street from the Empire Arts Center for complimentary Italian appetizers.  A cash bar will be available for your pleasure.

Mark your calendar – you won’t want to miss this Italian experience right here in beautiful downtown Grand Forks!

Tickets are available in advance at the Empire Box Office by calling 746-550, http://www.empireartscenter.com/, or at the door. Price:  $25, students $15.

Concert Enlightenment: Join Dr. Drago for a pre-concert lecture beginning at 1:30 p.m.  Admission is free with a paid concert ticket.

Want a sneak peek?  Join Dr. Drago and other musical guests at Sky’s Cloud 9 lounge on Saturday, Sept. 24, 6 p.m. Guests will enjoy a sneak peak of the upcoming concert, have a chance to visit with the Maestro and guest artists while enjoying dinner and drinks in a beautiful setting.  Guests are responsible for their individual dining expenditures.
