To March 3: ‘Speech & Debate,’ a dark comedy, plays at Burtness Theatre

S&Dpub1The Department of Theatre Arts presents Speech & Debate by Stephen Karam Feb. 27-March 3 at 7:30 p.m. nightly at the Burtness Theatre.

Speech & Debate is a somewhat dark, and certainly modern, comedy. It focuses on three teenagers who are set on exposing the hypocrisy of the adult world. Along the way, however, they come face to face with their own issues and attempts to find a common ground among them.

Speech & Debate opened off-Broadway in 2007 and was one of the most-produced plays in 2009-2010. The film adaptation was released in 2017. Please join the UND Department of Theatre Arts for a provoking evening of live theatre as our students present Speech & Debate.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students; call the box office at 701-777-2587.
