UND’s Nursing Honor Society receives awards

 UND’s nursing honor society, Sigma Theta Tau International, has received three Showcase of Regional Excellent awards (Collaborate, Catalyze, and Connect). Some of the activities they conducted include:

1. Supporting donations for faculty member Joni Tweeten and her students to take on yearly service trips to Guatemala.
2. Used technology such as skype and zoom for new member induction and monthly committee and board meetings and annual meeting
3. Giving a yearly research award to members. This year, Tim Fuss, a Ph.D. student, received a $1,500 award.
4. Participating in collaborative conference calls with other Region 4 chapters to share chapter activities and successes.
5. Encouraging and promoting the benefits of membership by visiting with UND nursing student groups
6. Assisting with the annual College of Nursing & Professional Development research day by donating prizes and offer information on the organization.
