Arts & Humanities faculty receive scholarship awards

In support of the important creative activity and scholarship of faculty in the fine arts and humanities, and in alignment with its strategic plan, the College of Arts & Sciences recently awarded the following Fine Arts & Humanities Scholarship Grants for calendar year 2021:

Crystal Alberts, associate professor in the department of English and director of the UND Writers Conference, for manuscript preparation.

Michael Wittgraf, Chester Fritz Distinguished Professor in the department of Music, for a “Commercial Recording of A Marriage of Seasons.”

The goals of the Fine Arts & Humanities Scholarship Initiative are to enrich fine arts and humanities scholarship, enhance visibility of the arts and humanities locally and in the region, provide discover and training opportunities for arts and humanities students, and, when appropriate, result in grant proposals submitted to external funding agencies/organizations.

The UND College of Arts & Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs and certificates in a variety of traditional and emerging disciplines in the fine arts, sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Students are challenged to work alongside faculty and with the community to explore and expand the boundaries of knowledge and their own creativity. The research, scholarship, and creative activities of the nationally and internationally recognized faculty enhance teaching and learning as well as contribute to the state of North Dakota, the country, and the world.
