Surojit Gupta’s artwork on exhibition at Grand Forks Public Library

Paintings and other artwork by Surojit Gupta, associate professor of mechanical engineering, are on exhibit at the Grand Forks Public Library.

In addition to his work at UND, Gupta is a self-taught painter and jewelry artisan. He paints humanistic works using an oil-on-canvas medium. In this collection, he showcases different art forms through a broad application of colors in abstract and surreal formats. Gupta explores themes of joy, happiness, regeneration, and loneliness. His work has been displayed at the North Dakota Museum of Art.

Gupta also creates jewelry, exploring different minerals for their scientific and aesthetic appeal. In the present collection of jewelry, he designed bracelets and necklaces by first personally choosing the beads and minerals.
