Alpha Kappa Delta

Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD – Sociology Honor Society) and the Sociology Club had a very productive and fun year!

During Fall 2024, we met for a pizza/game night at the Union, visited the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg, hosted an invited speaker (Dr. Bridget Goosby, University of Texas at Austin) who gave an excellent presentation on stress and race/ethnic health disparities, and wrapped gifts for the United Way Winter Wishlist Program.

During Spring 2025, we met for another pizza/game night, set up a “write something you are thankful for” mural at the Union, and hosted a meeting to discuss next year’s activities and leadership roles (thank you again Emily, Annalyce, and Monique for your wonderful work with the student organization this year!).

We also hosted a student celebration event where we honored sociology students, scholarship recipients, new AKD members, and participated in the UND Big Event. I am grateful to everyone for their hard work organizing the events this year, and to everyone who could join these events. We look forward to next year, and we hope you can join us!
