Each year the Web of Science group, an information and technology provider for the global scientific research community, complies its Highly Cited Papers list.

Two articles by Feng “Frank” Xiao, assistant professor of civil engineering, published in Water Research (2018 impact factor: 7.913), were recognized as “Highly Cited Papers” according to Web of Science. This indicates that both of papers received enough citations to place them in the Top 1% of the entire academic field of Environment/Ecology based on a highly cited threshold for the field. Xiao is the sole author of one of the papers:
