Chioma Onwumelu and Moones Alamooti have quite a few things in common with one another.

The two women have graduated with geology and energy engineering degrees respectively from the College of Engineering & Mines, both work at the University of North Dakota as researchers, and each has a passion for spreading awareness and inspiration for their profession.

Now, they have another thing in common: they’ve written an exciting new children’s book together.

Titled “Rock Adventures: A Global Journey of Three Friends,” their story takes young readers on a journey through the fascinating world of rocks and geology.

“We aimed to create a storybook that not only entertains but also educates,” says Moones, who also created the storybook’s illustrations. “We believe that by engaging children in the wonders of geology, we can inspire the next generation of scientists and explorers.”

In this tale, readers follow the adventures of three kids as they explore the Earth’s geological splendors. Children aged 4-12 reading this endearing story will be captivated by the magic of discovery and the beauty of the natural world.

While offering a whimsical and educational experience about rocks, it also imparts valuable life lessons about friendship, courage, and the joy of shared exploration.

“We are thrilled to share this imaginative and educational masterpiece with you and your little ones,” says Chioma. “Dive into the captivating world of rocks with us, where learning meets adventure and curiosity sparks discovery.”

The storybook is now available on Amazon, empowering families to embark on an unforgettable literary adventure together. This book promises to be a cherished addition to any child’s library, especially for young minds with a sense of wonder for the natural world.

This one book, however, is just the beginning. Invested readers should stay tuned for more adventures with the trio and their geological explorations in future series installments.

Chioma and Moones exemplify the spirit of outreach, community, and creativity fostered by their alma mater. Their collaboration is proof of the endless possibilities that arise when passionate individuals come together to create and share something truly special.
