Team roster will be updated weekly until the challenge starts. Register your team using the sign-up form.

Here’s how it works:

Create your Team: This is open to all UND and invites participants from both on and off-campus. Enter any way you choose — either as a whole college, unit, department, just staff, just faculty, just students, a student group, OR create your own team comprised of a mix of UND-affiliated faculty, staff, or students you choose.

Goal: Collect needed food pantry items from the list below OR raise monetary funds for the UND Food for Thought Food Pantry to earn points.

Scoring

Scoring: Using the honor system, each team will track and report their points:

1 item = 1 point OR $1 donated through online giving = 1 point.

Prize

The team with the most overall points wins the coveted Campus Challenge Overall Winner Traveling Trophy! Teams that gather the most physical pantry items OR report the most online monetary donations will also receive certificates.

How to Participate:

  1. Designate your team captain: This person will serve as the primary contact for the Challenge. This person will organize your team to collect the physical food drive items or encourage online donations. They will track and report team progress.
  2. Sign your team up: Let us know your team name and captain information using the sign-up form. Teams are encouraged to sign up before the February 19 start date, but late teams can still join after the start of the Challenge.
  3. Collect Donations as a Team: Collect pantry items AND/OR encourage your team to make an online donation to the Pantry Fund between February 19 and March 5. Each team gathers its donations independently. How you choose to do this is up to you! You can have your own collection boxes and communicate with your departments, units, and student groups to encourage participation.
    • Team captains — we’ve made it easy for you! Download our ready-to-use Adobe Express templates to promote your Pack the Pantry team to encourage donations and boost your score.
👉 Click the link to customize and share.
  4. Track Team Progress: Earn 1 point for every item/dollar that is collected by your team.
    • A note about online donations: The Challenge organizers do not have access to online donation records. For inclusion in team scoring, it is the responsibility of online donors to inform their team captain of their donation amount.
    • Bulk up to earn more points! As bulk items are often broken out by the pantry for individual distribution. Buying your donation items in bulk packaging can earn your team more points! Score bulk packages by counting each individual item inside. For example, your 5-pack of paper towels counts for 5 points, and a 12-pack of toilet paper counts for 12 points!
  5. Captains – Report your Progress by the end of the day on February 25 and March 6: Your Team captain is asked to submit score updates using the Challenge Reporting Tool.
  6. Have fun with it: Share your progress in photos and post friendly challenges on social media! Tag other teams to get them in on the Challenge fun.
  7. Transport Items to UND Food for Thought Food Pantry:This can be done either during the Challenge (count items before dropping them off) or at the conclusion. Need help with drop-off? UND College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines, which is organizing the Challenge, has volunteers and student groups available to assist with collection and delivery. The Team Captain will receive follow-up communications with information on how to arrange a pick-up.

The winners of the Campus Challenge will be announced on March 9!
