The College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines (CNPD) invites faculty, staff, and students to attend Feeding Futures, a presentation highlighting the impact of food insecurity on UND students.

Through a series of short presentations, CNPD faculty and student leaders from Nutrition & Dietetics, Nursing, and Social Work will explore how food insecurity affects student well-being, mental health, financial stability, and academic success. Guests are encouraged to attend in person and bring donations for UND’s Food for Thought Food Pantry. A livestream option will also be available.

Thursday, February 26, 2:00-3:00 p.m., Memorial Union Social Stairs, 2901 University Avenue Grand Forks, North Dakota 58202

Feeding Futures is part of CNPD’s Pack the Pantry Campus Challenge, a friendly, campus-wide effort to collect donations and raise funds for the Food Pantry. The Challenge runs February 19–March 5. Last year, 14 teams across campus collected 3,594 food items and raised $4,325, demonstrating the powerful impact of coming together to support fellow students. Teams are encouraged to sign-up to participate in advance, but can join the challenge at any time.

Pack the Pantry is a two-part CNPD initiative aligned with the College’s Strategic Plan, specifically the Service and Affinity pillars, and reflects CNPD’s commitment to supporting student success through food security.

CNPD Team Note:

CNPD won the 2025 Pack the Pantry Campus Challenge and is aiming to keep the trophy through 2026. The College has registered a team, The FOOd Fighters, with Ashley Beland (ashley.beland@UND.edu) and Kelli Zeidlik (raquel.zeidlik@UND.edu) serving as team captains.

Faculty, staff, and students interested in coordinating donations within their department, unit, or student group are encouraged to connect with one of the team captains. Additional details about collection points will be shared as the challenge approaches.
