Michael Dixon to give Surgery Grand Rounds on organ procurement on Oct. 11
Michael Dixon, MD, a PGY-IV resident in the UND Department of Surgery, will present a talk entitled “Organ Procurement” at Sanford Medical Center Broadway Fargo, N.D., from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, 2019. All are welcome to attend.
The objectives of Dr. Dixon’s talk are:
- Understand the current state of transplant organ supply and demand
- Recognize the requirements for declaration of death
- Understand strategies for gaining consent for organ donation
- Understand typical order of events during organ procurement
