Mariah Laver Juanto to discuss acceptance and commitment therapy at Psychiatry Grand Rounds on Oct. 4
For the next Psychiatry Grand Rounds, Mariah Laver Juanto, Ph.D., will present “An Overview of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)” from 12:10 to 1:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the UND Southeast Campus auditorium in Fargo. Dr. Laver Juanto is licensed psychologist at Sanford Behavioral Health in Fargo, N.D., and a clinical instructor for the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences in Fargo.
Upon completion of this program, the learner will be able to:
- Discuss the core concepts of ACT and how they apply to psychiatric disorders.
- Recognize how to use the primary components of ACT in clinical practice.
- Identify at least two patient populations for which there is strong empirical support for using ACT as a treatment approach.
