Upgraded teaching technology in SMHS classrooms

Classroom instructors: Are you tired of wrestling with Zoom and other platforms in the classroom – sharing content, camera angles, chat windows, and break-out rooms?

Fret no more. This summer, the SMHS Technology Resources team is upgrading several SMHS classrooms to better accommodate hybrid teaching.

As of next week, Rooms W203 and W206 have been upgraded to include a dedicated Zoom panel in the rooms’ main tech tower. This means that with push of a single button you can start a Zoom meeting in those rooms and begin sharing content direct to in-house and online participants.

New features include:

  • A true dual window experience
  • Simplified meeting set-up and content sharing
  • Camera and volume control
  • Rechargeable microphones that turn on/off automatically when removed from bases (no batteries to replace!)
  • Easy meeting invitations from the rooms’ Zoom panel (with a meeting ID that never changes)
  • USB-C pucks that work with every device for additional content sharing by others in the room

Plus a lot more.

Additionally, SMHS classroom E221 will be upgraded by August.
