Microsoft Sensitivity Labels on Outlook emails
To help better protect UND information, UND rolled out Microsoft Sensitivity Labels on March 16.
Sensitivity labels are a simple way to tag emails and documents based on how sensitive the information might be. The default label will be “Public,” but if your email or document contains private or restricted (confidential) information, you should choose a more appropriate label. Once a label is applied, Microsoft can automatically add protections such as limiting who can open the file, preventing forwarding, or adding encryption. The label stays with the file or email, even if it is shared, helping keep university information secure.
This is one more step in protecting student records, employee information, research data, and other important university information.
