Tell us about your journey to working in a medical library.
My journey to working in a medical library was not straight forward. During my graduate education, I believed medical librarianship would be a good fit for me based on my personal experience and interests. I completed several projects with this end in mind but unfortunately at that time I was living in Chicago where it was extremely difficult to get any academic library position. So, instead I ended up in publishing, followed by a community college part time position, then a public library in New Hampshire before landing my first academic library position at UND’s Chester Fritz Library. Next, I managed a community college library in Iowa before returning to UND and joining SMHS’s Library Resources. It was a long road but definitely worth it for the experience gained and the knowledge that Medical Librarianship is the right career for me.
What do you want everyone to know about Library Resources?
We’re a small but mighty group of expert researchers.
